History
Roman Arnold and his brother Frank started Radsport Arnold in 1985, importing Italian parts and selling them at races from a trailer. The first bikes under the Canyon name followed in 1996; since 2002 the whole company has been called Canyon, and it grew into one of the best-known direct-to-consumer bike brands.
Direct sales
Canyon bikes are ordered online and delivered in a box, almost fully assembled. The rider saves the shop's margin — and fits the bars, pedals and sets up the suspension themselves.
