Airtime, a ride heatmap and a trail forecast

Jumps and drops counted on every ride, a community heatmap and map styles to match the website, a three-day trail condition trend with forecast, send-to-Strava, and view counts on posts.

Version 2.3.7 · 25 September 2026

Bikeyard 2.3.7 counts the time you spend off the ground, shows where riders actually go, and tells you not just how a trail is today but how it got there and where it is heading. The map gets a new look that matches yard.bike, and a handful of smaller things make everyday riding smoother.

Airtime

Rides now report what happened in the air. A new Airtime block on the ride page lists your jumps and drops, total airtime, the longest flight and the hardest landing.

  • Measured from the phone's accelerometer, or from an external sensor when one recorded the ride — the page says which.
  • Every flight is marked on the ride's chart, with a legend that tells jumps from drops.
  • A ride that was measured and had no jumps says so, instead of staying quiet.

A map that matches the website

  • Layers — a new button on the map switches between map, satellite and terrain, and turns on the ride heatmap: where riders go, drawn from public rides with every privacy zone already cut out.
  • Map style — a new Map screen in Settings. Automatic follows the app's light or dark theme with the same map as yard.bike; you can also pin it to Light or Dark, or keep the colourful Classic map from before.
  • Find me on return — come back to the app and the map is already back on you, however far you had panned away. It can be turned off in the same screen.

Trail conditions: the last three days and the forecast

The trail condition screen now carries a trend chart: how the trail's condition moved over the past three days, where it stands now, and where the forecast says it is going — with the rain that drove it drawn underneath, in millimetres.

Send a ride to Strava

A single ride can now be sent to Strava from its share sheet, whether or not automatic upload is on — including rides recorded by another app, such as Nakvali. The app tells you if Strava isn't connected yet, and won't send the same ride twice.

The button also waits at the very bottom of your ride's page. Once a ride is on Strava, the same place links there with View on Strava. Only you see it; nobody else looking at your ride learns about your Strava account.

A clearer ride page

  • Climb and descent are shown side by side on ride cards and pages.
  • Gaps in the track — where the signal dropped out — are drawn dashed and no longer count towards distance.
  • Recording rate — rides recorded at a higher GPS rate carry a badge that says so.
  • Zoom into the charts — pinch the altitude and speed charts to look at a single climb or descent up close.
  • Where a ride came from — a ride recorded by another app or device now says so, with that app's icon, and gets the same weather as a ride recorded in Bikeyard.

Also in this release

  • Posts show how many people have viewed and read them; your own views don't count.
  • Messages show sent and read ticks.
  • Profiles with nothing posted yet say so, and social links get a heading of their own.
  • The Local Legend badge now says the period it covers.
