Riders to follow, a ride you can replay

BIKEYARD 2.3.6 gives new riders someone to follow from their first open, gives everyone a way to close their profile, and lets you watch any ride play back on the map. The ride and trail-result pages are also rebuilt.

Riders to follow

An empty feed used to be just that — empty. Now it opens with riders to follow: a carousel of suggestions between your posts, or, if you haven't followed anyone yet, a full screen of them.

• Suggestions come first from people your own follows already follow, then from riders near you.
• "Near you" never means your exact location is used or shown — it falls back to your profile's region or country, and only uses live location if the app already has it for another reason. No card ever tells you, or lets you work out, that someone is nearby.
• Follow directly from a card, or dismiss it and it won't come back.

Close your profile

Two new settings under Settings → Privacy:

• Suggest my profile to other riders — on by default, controls whether you show up in suggestions like the ones above.
• Private profile — off by default. A closed profile answers to no one but you: not your followers, not the website, not a third-party app. Your leaderboard results still count and still carry your name, and any ride or post you've already published keeps working at its own link — it's the profile itself that closes.

Following a closed profile now goes through a request the owner approves, from a new requests screen of their own.

Replay a ride

Every saved ride can now play back on the map — on the ride's own page or on its full map view. A dot follows the route at the ride's real pace, holes and all, with a scrub bar underneath for time, distance and speed from 0.25× up to 2×.

Ride and trail pages, redesigned

The ride page and the trail-effort page have both been rebuilt: the map now sits behind a sheet of stats and opens full-screen with a tap, your key numbers (distance, moving time, climb, average and max speed) lead the page, and the altitude and speed charts share one cursor. The trail-effort page adds a "Your Results" tab with every past attempt on one chart.

Also in this release

• More precise GPS tracking, especially on iOS, where recording is now less likely to lose part of the track if the app is closed or interrupted mid-ride.
• Closed (temporarily unavailable) trails are now drawn with a dashed line on the map.
• Clear your searched-profiles history with one tap.
